2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Guide

2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Guide

EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts runs during Winter 2026 at Walt Disney World. This guide offers info, tips, food recommendations, and our must-see highlights of this annual artistic event, which is the best fest of the year.

For those unfamiliar with it, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is a global celebration of the visual, culinary, and performing arts. It’s technically the newest special event of the year at Walt Disney World, even though 2026 is its 10th year! After flying under the radar for a while, EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts has finally come into its own in the last few years–fueled largely by Figment.

This year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs from January 16 until February 23, 2026. That also makes it the second-shortest event of the year, at only about one week longer than the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays that runs around Christmas-time. Despite its shorter duration, Festival of the Arts packs a powerful punch, and is our favorite festival by far.

It’s unfortunate that Festival of the Arts is so short, and we’d happily trade a later start to Flower & Garden for more Festival of the Arts. For the reasons discussed below, FARTS (don’t look at me, it’s not my stinky acronym) is far and away the best fest of the year at EPCOT…and still the shortest! The silver lining of that, we suppose, is that at least this event hasn’t been diluted as a result.

Walt Disney World has dubbed this event the “ultimate celebration of world-class food, amazing visual art, and live entertainment.” We agree. EPCOT’s FARTS is our favorite event of the year, and we love chatting with artists, watching the performers, and eating our way around the Food Studio booths, and enjoying some of the art on display. Trying the new food, seeing artists exhibit their work, and participating in the interactive offerings at the event is always a good time.

Walt Disney World has also revealed all of the artists who will be featured at the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. During the event, some artists will have their own booths where you can purchase their work and have your pieces signed.

One of our favorite parts of Festival of the Arts is the event exclusive art, and the pieces created live on stage. In total, there are over 200 new pieces of artwork being created for the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, many of which will be created right in front of guests!

Stop by CommuniCore Hall Plaza to see canvases come to life with the help of an onstage visual artist as they paint your favorite Disney characters. (Check the “Visual Art Performance” times in the My Disney Experience app, because these are easy to miss–and they are really work seeing!)

You can also meet artists all around the park! Below are the current monthly schedules…

Disney Legend Tony Baxter Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 1

While there are countless fantastic artists in this lineup, we’d be remiss if we didn’t draw your attention to Disney Legend Tony Baxter. The former Imagineer behind the creation of the original Journey into Imagination, and Father of Figment, will be at the Disney Fine Art booth on the World Showcase bridge January 22 – 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Artwork available for purchase will include Baxter’s Pinocchio-inspired “Tyrolean Fantasy” and Mary Poppins-inspired “Steps of St. Paul’s.” (Both pictured below.)

Additionally, Disney Fine Art teased: “Come say hello, have your artwork signed, and keep your eyes open in our booth…you may spot a little extra Disney art magic, we promise is real (and not just a “Figment” of your imagination 😉).” Could there be a mystery Figment piece of art available?!?! Either way, we cannot wait!

Figment Inspiration Station Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 200

The last few years, the biggest change has been more Figment.

EPCOT Festival of the Arts has gotten more imaginative, with Figment’s Inspiration Station: Art, Food, and Little Sparks of Magic. With this, Figment essentially takes over the Odyssey events center, which was previously the EPCOT Experience preview center (and has also functioned as a festival center for past events). Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey includes nods and restored pieces from the original Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT Center, circa 1982.

Figment’s Inspiration Station features an original Figment Audio Animatronics figure, mural inspired by the ride’s load area, the original background music, and projections from the attraction. There’s also inspiration drawn from the original upstairs ImageWorks, with original pin tables and a rainbow corridor-esque aesthetic in Figment’s Inspiration Station.

Figment Popcorn Bucket Line Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 395

Additionally, the Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket has been offered in a few different varieties. A few years ago, FARTS was dominated by headlines that EPCOT’s Longest Line Is For Figment Popcorn Buckets. It took a while, but Walt Disney World eventually solved that problem by streamlining the process with Mobile Order.

Thankfully, Mobile Order is once again the solution to that particular problem. Simply look for EPCOT Souvenir Release and select a return timeslot, starting at 11 am. Limit 2 per person. Last year, a brand new style of popcorn bucket was introduced–we’re hoping for another new one for the 10th Anniversary of FARTS!

Figment’s Inspiration Station doubles as a food and merchandise booth, serving the Pop’t Art, Rainbow Cake, and a variety of other snacks and drinks, including a number of different beers. (Strikes me as sorta odd for Figment’s booth to serve alcohol, but whatever.)

In addition to the popcorn bucket at Figment’s Inspiration Station, you can also bring home the brand-new Fruity Fig Bar Figment Disney Munchling. This limited-edition Disney Munchling features the sweet smell of berries and can be found both at the merchandise locations at the festival and on shopDisney.

The Figment fun continues when the sun goes down at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts.

Over at Spaceship Earth, a Beacons of Magic light show features Figment. This technicolor tribute features music that’ll bring one little spark your imagination, along with a spectacle of dazzling light. This combines Journey into Imagination and Muppets by also utilizing “Rainbow Connection” in what might be the most inspired and imaginative version of the excellent EPCOT Beacons of Magic yet.

2019 Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 210

With what’s new out of the way, let’s offer a bit of background on the basics of the event that are consistent from year-to-year. The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is a special event celebrating the visual, culinary, and performing arts from around the world. The event includes Food Studios (naturally!) and an array of entertainment options.

The first thing you need to know is that there’s a lot to see and do at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, but the vast majority of the entertainment is not continuously running. Quite the converse, in fact.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 490

While there is virtually always something occurring throughout the park between park opening and 5 p.m., many of the live performers are only out a few times per day, and some of their sets are fairly short.

Because of this, it’s absolutely essential that you consult a times guide or entertainment schedule for the day your visiting, and plan around the entertainment that is the most “rare.” Alternatively, if you have a surplus of time, you might want to take a slow approach, just meandering around World Showcase and stumbling upon art as you stroll. We really enjoy that sense of “discovery.”

The Food Studios, exhibits, and interactive art opportunities can be slotted in whenever, so fit those into your schedule when you have down time, but plan around the live entertainment.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 1060

You won’t be able experience all of Epcot and Festival of the Arts in a single day. Accordingly, we advise spending two days at Epcot during Festival of the Arts: both weekdays.

Weekends at Epcot are busy during Festival of the Arts, primarily due to strong word of mouth about the event among locals, who work during the week. As with every other Epcot festival, weekdays are far less busy.

The last few winters have been a veritable crowd roller coaster at Walt Disney World. That things have returned to pre-pandemic normal, and we expect comparable crowds in Winter 2026 as there were this past year. (See Winter is Still Not Off-Season at Walt Disney World.)

Figment Popcorn Bucket Line Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 394

Winter is actually the one time of year that is seeing year-over-year increases to crowd levels fairly consistently. Even as other months have experienced a slowdown relative to the height of pent-up demand and revenge travel, that isn’t really true for January and February. These two months have actually gotten busier.

Anecdotally, feels like crowds have gotten even worse during the winter. Statistical crowd levels are measured by wait times, as that’s the only objective measure of crowds. Subjectively, my suspicion is that attendance and congestion have increased even more during the winter, but proportionately fewer of those guests are doing rides since the weather is nice and it’s more comfortable to wander around outdoors than, say, June or July.

If that doesn’t make sense, the bottom line is that crowds have increased in the winter months and, if anything, the extent to which this has been captured by wait times data probably underreports this trend.

Crowds Epcot Disney World 379

It’s not just park attendance that has increased during winter. Hotel bookings are also very strong for January through March. As with so much else, the post-COVID period has changed travel patterns. More parents are willing to pull their kids out of school throughout the academic year, or are willing to take shorter trips throughout year.

Winter has seen an increase in demand, and Walt Disney World reportedly recorded its highest resort occupancy levels over a 10-week stretch last year from January through March. This shift is happening for good reason, in part due to EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, but also because winter is simply a better time to visit, even with higher crowds.

The good news is that some of the dates encompassed by the EPCOT Festival of the Arts are among the best of the year from a qualitative perspective. The bad news is that winter is busier than ever, and the final week of the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts will be the busiest of the first few months of the year due to Presidents’ Day and Mardi Gras coinciding once again.

For more info, refer to our rankings of the 10 Best and 10 Worst Weeks to Visit Walt Disney World in 2026 & 2027, which includes good and bad dates during the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Alternatively, consult our January 2026 Crowd Calendar and February 2026 Crowd Calendar for Walt Disney World for a rundown of all FARTS dates.

Gourmet Landscapes Booth Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 225

Let’s turn to the Food Studios. For many guests, these will be the highlight of the event, offering marketplace snack options in venues similar to those found during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. This is also for good reason.

The food is artfully presented, and is typically delicious. There’s also a wide variety of options, from gourmet dishes to photogenic ones to comfort cuisine–it’s all available. Nevertheless, the “culinary arts” are the least important component of the event. Spending money at the Food Studios is not essential to enjoying the event.

With that said, we’d highly recommend eating your way around the Food Studios during the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. This is usually our favorite food event of the year. It’s become a close call between this and Flower & Garden, depending on each year’s menus. Both are better than the two festivals that follow, although Food & Wine’s cuisine scene has improved in the last couple years thanks to Harvest Hollow.

I’d also add that bang for buck is generally pretty good at the Food Studios. Yes, they’re pricey. But the portions are often surprisingly sizeable, and the quality easily surpasses the park’s counter service restaurants–and even some table service spots.

Artists Table Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 216

As regular restaurants have gotten worse–with smaller portions, cheaper ingredients, and higher prices–I’d argue that the Food Studios have largely gotten better or held steady. Of course, we’ve yet to eat anything at the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, so this assessment is based on last year’s festivals.

If you do opt for the foodie elements of the festival, the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is a fun way to do it. Set out on a tasty trek around the EPCOT Festival of the Arts and purchase 7 vibrant dishes—and be rewarded with one technicolor treat to enjoy at the end of your journey.

Use your Festival Passport as your guide to look for specially notated menu items, then track your progress by collecting a stamp after each purchase. Once you’ve enjoyed at least 5 of the 7 dishes—and collected the corresponding stamps—bring your stamped Festival Passport to the Deco Delights food studio to receive a complimentary Artist Palette Cookie.

Figment Epcot Festival Arts Disney World438

With that said, you could skip the food entirely and still have an awesome time at the event. This is sentiment you might not read elsewhere, but keep in mind that a lot of the interest around Epcot’s festivals revolves around food; this is also how Disney monetizes the events.

So of course it makes sense for Walt Disney World and other blogs to hype up the food…even if it’s far from the highlight of Epcot’s Festival of the Arts. Aside from the snacking, Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts offers Walt Disney World guests the ability to peruse artwork by Disney artists in galleries.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 488

Additionally, there are live artists creating artwork in Epcot. It’s really interesting to watch them; we were so captivated by one of the artists that we watched him complete an entire Mickey Mouse painting, which he did in ‘unison’ with music.

Other artists will be painting landscape scenes throughout World Showcase. Additionally, chalk artists will reproduce classic works on park sidewalks, Epcot Living Statues will do roaming art, and guest performance artists will create live art with the wave of a paintbrush.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 20170216169 620x414

Interactive guest art is another one of our favorite aspects of FARTS. We have had a chance to help complete several different murals, including the one pictured below.

It’s also a really fun experience in the moment, and satisfying once you see the finished product a few days later, knowing I helped make that!

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World Figment 20170216164

For kids of all ages, one of the highlights is Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt. Mischievous Figment has re-imagined what famous paintings might look like if he were part of the artwork, and hidden one in each country around World Showcase–see if you can find them all. The paintings are cleverly done, and a good way to introduce kids to art history.

It’s also just a lot of fun to search for the Figment-infused art. If you want, you can purchase maps for ~$10 each at the main gift shops (Port of Entry, Creations Shop, World Traveler Shop, etc.) and play the game–being rewarded with a Figment keepsake once you find them all. However, you can also just look for them for a sense of fun and satisfaction–that’s usually what we do!

Broadway Concert Series Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 0157

There’s also more structured entertainment for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. The Disney on Broadway concert series will once again return. This features three shows each evening headlined by Broadway stars performing beloved songs from more than 25 years of award-winning stage productions.

The America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure pavilion comes alive with unforgettable performances, as musical stars return to EPCOT to perform the iconic songs they helped bring to life on Broadway stages alongside other show-stopping favorites.

2026 Disney on Broadway Concert Series Schedule:

  • Isabelle McCalla (“Aladdin”) – NEW! and Adam Jacobs (“Aladdin”)
    • January 16, 18, 19, 22, 24, 26, 27
  • Sierra Boggess (“The Little Mermaid”) – NEW! and Jelani Remy (“The Lion King”)
    • January 17, 20, 21, 23, 25, 28, 29
  • Anastacia McCleskey (“Tarzan”) – NEW! and Josh Strickland (“Tarzan”)
    • January 30
    • February 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 10
  • Mandy Gonzalez (“Aida”) and Kissy Simmons (“The Lion King”)
    • January 31
    • February 3, 4, 6, 8, 11, 12
  • Ainsley Melham (“Aladdin”) – NEW! Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”)
  • Susan Egan (“Beauty and The Beast”) – NEW! and James Monroe Iglehart (“Aladdin”) – NEW!
    • February 14, 17, 18, 20, 21
  • Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”), Ainsley Melham (“Aladdin”), Susan Egan (Beauty and The Beast”), James Monroe Iglehart (“Aladdin”)

As you can see, the 2026 lineup features six new performers, brings together Broadway’s brightest stars performing fan-favorite hits from The Lion KingBeauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and more.

Every two weeks, a new pair of performers takes the spotlight, making each visit to the festival a fresh experience. The concerts take place several times daily, providing you with ample opportunities to enjoy your favorite performances. Admission is included with EPCOT park entry, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World442

If you want to enjoy dinner and a show, choose from over one dozen unique eateries at EPCOT offering 2026 Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Packages. These are now available to book. See Disney on Broadway Concerts at EPCOT Festival of Arts: Dates, Lineup & Dining Packages for more.

We typically do not recommend these, with the extended finale and busier dates being the exception. We’ve seen Disney on Broadway concerts countless times and have seldom had issues getting seats. With that said, Festival of the Arts gets busier and busier each year, so the dining package isn’t a bad option if you want an insurance policy or prime view. To each their own, though.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 1042

Ultimately, Epcot International Festival of the Arts has proven itself to be something different. Food and drinks are the lowest priority here, and there is so much “other stuff” that it’s hard to view this as a thinly-veiled way to sell high margin stuff. When you consider how much all of the artists and entertainers likely cost, the cynicism melts away.

To the contrary, the Epcot Festival of the Arts is a true enhancement to Epcot. It cherrypicks the elements of Flower & Garden and Food & Wine that we like best, and enhances the park in an organic way that feels like it recaptures a bit of the original spirit of EPCOT Center. The event’s ambiance makes it even more enjoyable to just wander around Epcot, and there are strong educational and entertainment components.

Epcot Festival Arts Disney World 0158

With 9 years under the event’s belt, we’re confident that EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts has found its footing. We hope that it continues to evolve and expand, and 2026 should be the year for that! EPCOT will no longer be in the midst of a massive construction project–which means no maze of construction walls for the first time since 2019! Here’s hoping that Figment’s Inspiration Station returns bigger and better, plus a bigger and better exhibit inside CommuniCore Hall.

Disney continues to deliver on EPCOT’s FARTS, which is why it has been our favorite festival since it started several years ago. That might be hard to believe given the barrage of coverage that Food & Wine receives, and given that this is the shortest and newest event, but if we could only choose one to attend, this would be it. Despite the surprise spike in crowds last year, we would highly recommend this event–and this time of year–to anyone considering when to visit Walt Disney World in 2026.
