Save $100+ on Hulu & Disney+ Bundles for Black Friday!

It’s the most magical time of year again: Black Friday! That special season when streaming services try to grab market share from one another with aggressive discounts that they’re hoping you forget to cancel a year from now when they renew at full price, which will almost assuredly increase between now and then.

Disney+ and Hulu are once again getting in on the action with a massive Black Friday flash sale on a variety of different bundle and add-on options. They’re joined by just about every other streaming service (minus Netflix) in offering big deals to prop up subscriber numbers (even though Wall Street supposedly doesn’t care) and maintain relevance.

This holiday season, bundle subscribers can enjoy festive favorites like “Home Alone,” “The Santa Clause,” and “The Polar Express,” alongside recently released movies like “Freakier Friday” and Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” as well as exciting shows including “All’s Fair” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

Highly anticipated upcoming programming includes the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” (December 10, 2025) and two new projects from Taylor Swift: a six-part docu-series that takes viewers behind the scenes of Swift’s Eras Tour and a film of the final concert of the tour (December 12, 2025).

All of that is according to Disney’s press release. If you ask me, the recent-ish highlights on Hulu are “Alien: Earth,” “Only Murders in the Building” (although it’s starting to feel a bit too one-note), “The Bear,” (similar story), “The Lowdown,” “Paradise,” “Fargo,” and “Chad Powers.” Sarah has advised me to stop recommending “Chad Powers” to people since it’s stupid and implausible, but I can’t help it. Pure guilty pleasure. I’ll watch anything with Glenn Powell.

As a chaser to that, I’ll once again recommend “Shogun.” That’s not new, but it is one of the best things I’ve watched on television in the last several years. I’d also ‘endorse’ all of the Christmas classics on both Disney+ and Hulu. Otherwise, we don’t really watch much on Disney Plus. Hulu and AppleTV+ have become our go-to streaming services. We’ve cancelled most of the rest, Netflix included. I only keep Disney+ for access to the park discounts, quite honestly.

Hulu Disney Plus Bear Streaming Services

This is over $95 off the ad-supported tier of the Disney+ and Hulu Bundle over the course of the year, and can end up being well over $100 off if you take advantage of the HBO or Starz add-ons (see below). Although this is not nearly as good as past versions of this deal (we’ve paid as little as 99 cents for Hulu for several years, and then $1.99 for both), it is a hot deal considering the recent price increases to both services.

If you watch a decent amount of either streaming service, consider splurging for the ad-free tier. For the longest time, we didn’t watch much Hulu, so we stuck with the ad-supported version, and used the commercial breaks to take breaks, etc. Then we started binge-watching “This Is Us.” The ads were so frequent and lengthy that we finally broke down and upgraded to the ad-free tier, which was a significant increase over our promotional pricing.

Note that the Disney Bundles that include the new ESPN flagship service are not discounted for Black Friday. Those are still available at 44% and 42% off, depending on the tier, but that’s not associated with Black Friday. I’m rather dubious of those percentage-off savings, as I have a hard time believing that the flagship bundles are going to sell well at full price. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if there’s some scorching deal on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN for Black Friday 2026 that far surpasses the current introductory offer.

Disney Bundle Add-on Deals

For a limited time, eligible new and returning subscribers can also get the following add-ons at a discounted rate for 12 months during the Disney+ Black Friday promotion:

  • HBO Max (With Ads) for $2.99/month for 12 months***
  • STARZ add-on for $2.99/month for 12 months****

Existing subscribers must go to their Account page to redeem this offer. Note that if you’re having difficulties with either of these deals, they’re available elsewhere, independently of the Disney Bundle.

Tokyo Vice Hbo Max Streaming

We signed up for HBO Max at the $3 per month price point directly via that app, where the promotional price was buried under “alternative billing” for some reason. So you might have to poke around a bit to find it. Also note that this tier of HBO Max does not include live sports. Generally speaking, we favor having standalone subscriptions for each streaming service, but to each their own on that.

HBO Max is definitely “worth it” at the promotional price, but we otherwise don’t find sufficient value in the streaming service–despite historically being huge HBO fans–since the network’s marquee series have all wound down. It’s a shadow of its former self. AppleTV+ is the new HBO.

Starz is an absolute waste of money. I’ve been “tricked” into taking advantage of their deals over the years, and the network offers about one month of worthwhile programming, and that’s it. I cannot imagine anyone wanting or needing a full year of Starz.
