Walt Disney World has shared the full set list of music that Electric Mayhem will perform during Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, with a total of 5 songs plus bonus tracks! Here’s the rundown of music aboard the attraction, plus videos of musicians & Muppets, and our not-so-expert assessment of the selections.
In case you missed it, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets comes speeding into Disney’s Hollywood Studios and will officially open on May 26, 2026 after a period of previews. The reimagined ride is fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.
According to Disney, the Electric Mayhem are headlining their biggest Hollywood concert ever! Anyone who’s anyone is in attendance to witness Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of this groove-tastic group rock the house down. There’s just one little problem: the band is nowhere to be found!
Across town at G-Force Records, we’re treated to a VIP tour of the legendary rock and roll recording studio. Things might look a little different around this Hollywood institution, as the label has recently come under new management: The Muppets!
According to Walt Disney World, the colorful crew has landed some new digs… with just a little help from Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse (he really puts the G in G-Force). Just wait until you see how they’ve made these hallowed halls their own, creating the perfect place to make sweet, sweet Muppet music together!

With your VIP passes, you’ll be welcomed inside the recording studio, where you’ll find The Electric Mayhem cranking out the familiar tunes of “Can You Picture That?” as they rehearse for their big concert.
Along with the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course) we’ll see Scooter doing his best to convince Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough to get the band across town and onstage in time?
And that’s where things start rockin’, as the roller coaster launches and the music kicks into high gear…

And like any great show, the fun doesn’t stop with the final note. Walt Disney World teased that Electric Mayhem has been working on some “bonus tracks” for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Here’s our take on the 5 songs that are part of the official setlist for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets…

RnRC Starring Muppets Setlist Assessment
The first song in RnRC is an Electric Mayhem cover of Blur’s “Song 2.” This is the second song on the eponymous fifth studio album by the English rock band Blur. (If you’re unfamiliar with it, have a listen.)
“Song 2” was released by Blur in April 1997, and was intended to be a parody of the grunge genre or of radio hits and the music industry with a punk rock chorus. It features “woo-hoo” and “yeah, yeah” lyrics, and it’s ~2 minute duration makes it a good fit for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
“Song 2” should be a fantastic fit for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. Seriously, can you not hear Animal jamming out and shooting “yeah, yeah”?! It’s a great choice. Here’s hoping this is a repeat of Cosmic Rewind, which captures lightning in a bottle (for the most part) with its song choices.

The second song for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken. Originally, “Born to Be Wild” is a 1968 song written by Mars Bonfire and first released as a single by Steppenwolf.
Rolling Stone ranked “Born to Be Wild” at number 129 on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. On AFI’s list of “100 Years…100 Songs” ranking the top songs in films, it was #29. It was 40th in the 100 Greatest Songs of Rock and Roll by VH1. In 2018, “Born to Be Wild” song was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a new category for singles.
Electric Mayhem’s version will feature Camilla the Chicken, which should be amusing. Camilla the Chicken is Gonzo’s long-time girlfriend and has appeared in Muppet productions since the 1970s. You might say it’s a bit rebellious or counterculture for a…whatever Gonzo is…to date a chicken.
Although the lyrics of “Born to Be Wild” don’t specifically mention motorcycles, the song has become associated with them in pop culture, after being featured in the 1969 classic, Easy Rider. “Born to Be Wild” is a perfect fit for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The kind of song that’s an obvious choice for a road trip playlist when you need to be energized. Once again, Disney nailed it with the song selection here.

“Love Rollercoaster” is a song originally by American funk/R&B band Ohio Players from their 1975 album Honey. The song was a number-one U.S. hit in January 1976, and was certified gold. “Love Rollercoaster” has been covered several times, most notably by rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers for the soundtrack of the 1996 animated movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.
This song has big Cosmic Rewind energy. It reminds me of the type of pick Disney made for that ride, and although I’m not sold on the tempo of this for a high speed launch coaster, Imagineering has already proven that this type of choice can absolutely “work” on a thrill ride like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Plus, the Muppets should make it fun and, c’mon, it’s a song about a roller coaster! This seems like a great pick, and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if this was one of the songs considered for Cosmic Rewind, but Imagineering determined it didn’t quite fit the cadence or ride profile of that attraction. (Come to think of it, maybe Disney having so many good songs in the ‘reject’ pile for Cosmic Rewind was one of the motivations for this ride reimagining in the first place?!)
My only hangup here is the song featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove. Nothing against either artist, but if Electric Mayhem were going to have collaborators on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, I would’ve expected, ya know, rock stars (as opposed to R&B or soul). Having the Red Hot Chili Peppers cover it would’ve been fun, but perhaps I’m biased towards then. But again, I’m willing to give Disney the benefit of the doubt here given the track record of success on Cosmic Rewind!

“Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)’” is a song by Def Leppard and is the first track on their 1983 album Pyromania. It’s a party anthem that captures the fast-paced rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, known for its pop-metal sound.
Although “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)’” is probably fairly categorized as more minor Def Leppard (it was not a chart-topping single), making it an interesting pick in that it’s a song most guests won’t immediately recognize, it does notably start with lyrics to “hold on to your hat.” It also has a chorus that’s heavy on “rock!”
It’s unsurprising to see Def Leppard on the setlist, and I’m pleased by their representation. And also that the song will actually feature the 80s rockers! At the same time, if you gave me 20 guesses at the song that’d be featured on the RnRC setlist, I wouldn’t have correctly picked this one. Not that that really matters. Again, we’re willing to give Disney the benefit of the doubt after what they’ve pulled off with the setlists for the Guardians of the Galaxy attractions.

The final song on the official playlist for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets is “Walking on Sunshine.” This was originally written by Kimberley Rew for British rock band Katrina and the Waves’ 1983 album Walking on Sunshine, and you probably recognize it.
Unlike the previous entry, “Walking on Sunshine” was a huge hit. The song reached No. 4 in Australia, No. 9 in the United States and No. 8 in the United Kingdom. It also has enjoyed an outsized pop culture presence, with features in many movies, such as High Fidelity, American Psycho, Daddy Day Care, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Bean, The Master of Disguise, Look Who’s Talking, and many more. I’m not even going to list all of the TV shows that’ve used it, because it’s a very lengthy list. I feel like I hear “Walking on Sunshine” all the time.
This is another Cosmic Rewind-esque pick, and I feel like it could have a fun buoyancy to it, for lack of a better term. Kind of like how Cosmic Rewind feels like a coaster that ‘dances,’ “Walking on Sunshine” could give RnRC that quality. But as with “Love Rollercoaster,” I do wonder about Kelly Clarkson being featured here. Again, though, willing to wait and see how it turns out!

Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Bonus Tracks?
Prior to the opening of Cosmic Rewind, Walt Disney Imagineering revealed that during development of that family-thrill coaster, they came up with a list of more than 100 potential songs for the Starjumpers’ onboard sound system. The results were fantastic–a bunch of perfect fits, minus “Conga.” (Can’t win ’em all.)
A lot of the songs that didn’t work on the roller coaster itself ended up in the exit area, which has its own fantastic music loop. My best guess is that it’s going to be a similar story here–Imagineering found that certain songs didn’t quite “work” on RnRC, but they couldn’t resist including them somewhere in the attraction. (That should also bode well for the songs that were chosen, as is the case with Cosmic Rewind.)
While I’d love for there to be ‘secret’ songs on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets that are activated by guests doing certain things (a la “Chewie Mode” on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run), I’m skeptical of that.
Anything that requires a Cast Member involvement would be too tedious and has the potential to reduce the hourly throughput of the coaster. More likely is that there are a couple of songs that are only played at certain times or on certain days (a la “September Day” on Cosmic Rewind), but I can’t even fathom what that might be.

The ‘bonus tracks’ being in the queue, exit area, and courtyard outside the attraction seems most likely here. In which case, those aren’t bonus tracks so much as they are background music. Here’s hoping I’m wrong about that, and there are actually a ton of secret songs on the ride itself. Guess we’ll find out May 26, 2026 when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets opens (or some date further into the future if they’re not revealed right away).
I’d also note that the Muppets have previously recorded a number of covers, which could seemingly be reused here outside the actual roller coaster to reduce costs. At the same time, I’m guessing the bigger concerns are fit for the ride profile and ongoing licensing fees. Meaning that the music already existing probably isn’t make or break either way.
One of the great strengths of Cosmic Rewind is its crowd-pleasing music, and we fully expect Disney to replicate that recipe with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Obviously the Muppetization of the roller coaster is something I’m really excited about, but I feel like better song selection has the potential to elevate this attraction for everyone (except Aerosmith diehards), even those who are not Muppets diehards.

Ultimately, we’re cautiously optimistic about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. There are hardcore Muppets fans in Walt Disney Imagineering who fought for this project in the first place, and will likewise work tirelessly to ensure the reimagining is well-done, reusing elements from MuppetVision that would otherwise be discarded, and having as much unique Muppets humor as possible.
I can’t wait to see how Imagineers pull off this ride reimagining, even if it’ll never fully replace MuppetVision. Then again, maybe it won’t have to…if they do such a good job that this leads to a future Muppets Courtyard in this area, we could end up with a windfall and the start of a bona fide Muppet renaissance!
